Seven brothers (3 active and 4 alumni) attended the 150th Congress in San Francisco in June. Alumni president brother Tom Deans was also sworn in as the newest Grand Beta. In addition to the legislative session and the committee meetings, brothers worked on increasing alumni involvement and ritual education. Congress also enjoyed a sunset ferry ride across the bay for dinner and drinks.
Most importantly, PLT has won another Gehring Award along with three other national awards! The Dr. Thomas Gehring Award for Chapter Excellence recognizes Chapters which exemplify the characteristics that define the standards by which other Chapters should be evaluated. With the implementation of the Accreditation program, accreditation standing should play a large factor in qualifying for this award. The Chapter should also display excellence, accomplishments over and above accreditation standards, in order to win this award. The chapter also won the E. Bates Block Award for Campus Involvement, the Outstanding Alumni Event award, and the Philanthropic Achievement Award.
